This specimen is a cast of the knee joint from a fossil homin known as Australopithecus afarensis. Features of the femur indicate the hominin would have been bipedal. The bones measure 7.1 cm x 5.4 cm x 4.3 cm and 8.7 cm x 4.8 cm x 3.5 cm.
