This specimen is an Elkhorn Coral on a white plaster stand. Elkhorn Coral is one of the dominant framework builders in the Caribbean. It can form dense stands that provide shelter to different reef organisms including sea urchins and spiny lobster. Elkhorn Coral are also decreasing in population and conservation efforts are in place to protect the species. This specimen measures approximately 23.5 cm x 19 cm.
