Object/Specimen Description:

A replica of a woolly mammoth tooth made from a specimen recovered by fishermen out of the North Sea. The woolly mammoth was the smallest species of mammoth, roughly equal in size to the modern African elephant, and the last species of mammoth to go extinct. The woolly mammoth inhabited the Pleistocene tundra and northern taiga regions of Eurasia and northern North America. The tooth measures about 26cm x 19cm x 7.5cm.
