The fossilized bone is part of a broken radius from an extinct genus of baleen whale. Baleen whales are a type of whale with bristle-like hair in their mouth that hangs down and is used as a filter for plankton, which is their food source. The radius of a whale is located in the flipper, which are shortened foremlimbs that enable better movement in water. The radius measures about 12cm x 6cm.
