This artifact is a pottery sherd from the early to middle Woodland period (700 B.C. - 500 A.D.). It is possibly net impressed, but may just be rough and unpolished pottery. It is a light tan in color, with a blackened interior. It measures approximately 7.5 cm x 6.5 cm x1 cm in size.
