Beetle Dusted with Pollen

Beetle dusted with yellow pollen on a light purple and light green thistle flower.

Beetle (Larinus latus) dusted with pollen as it visits a thistle flower. The beetle is a "true weevil," identifiable by its long snout. These beetles are plant-eaters, spreading pollen incidentally as they move from plant to plant. Image courtesy of Stanislav Krejčík, CC-BY, http://eol.org/data_objects/5826540.
